Most "free" security extensions protect you in exchange for your browsing history. Guardián Web does the opposite: it runs on your own device, never sends your browsing to any server, and its code is open and auditable. Turn on 100% local mode and nothing leaves your machine.
What it detects
Phishing & impersonation
Domains that mimic brands and tricks like “g00gle” or characters that fool the eye (homographs).
Card theft
Forms that send your card number or data to another domain (skimmers).
Cryptojacking
Pages that mine cryptocurrency using your processor without permission.

The classic “your computer is infected, call now” and pages that lock your browser.
Tracking & fingerprinting
Covert identification and domains that follow you across the web.
Dangerous downloads
Executables disguised as PDFs and files with double extensions.
Unlike other tools, it doesn't just match the URL against a list: it analyzes behavior, so it catches brand-new threats not yet on any list.

It specifically recognizes impersonation attempts against the brands and institutions most faked in SMS and email campaigns:

📚 And it teaches, too
Every warning includes a link to learn about that threat (OWASP, EFF, MDN). The goal isn't only to protect you, but to help you recognize danger yourself. Because the best defense is you, knowing how to look.
Privacy, specifically
- 🚫 No telemetry or analytics. Your activity is never collected.
- 🙈 No account, no sign-up. We don't ask for email or personal data.
- 🏠 Optional local mode. Disables every external query.
- 🔐 What you type stays with you. Compared on your device; never stored or sent.
- 🤝 Community reputation with k-anonymity. On lookups, the server never knows which site you're visiting.
- 🔎 Open source. Anyone can review exactly what it does.
